Low Fuel Indicator
- Check for blown fuse No. 1 (10-amp) in dash fuse/relay box (located in left kick panel). Drain fuel. Reinstall drain bolt using new washer. Add 3.2 gallons of fuel to tank. Turn ignition on. Low fuel indicator light should come on within 4 minutes. If indicator light comes on, go to step 4). If indicator light does not come on, go to next step.
- Remove fuel tank access panel in luggage compartment. Disconnect 3-pin connector from fuel gauge sending unit. Connect a jumper wire between Light Green/Red and Black wire terminals. If indicator light comes on, go to next step. If indicator light does not come on, check for open in Light Green/Red wire between indicator light and fuel gauge. Check for blown bulb. Check for no power to fuel gauge. Check for poor ground connections. Repair as necessary.
- If indicator light came on, check fuel gauge sending unit. See FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT TEST . Check for poor ground connections. Repair as necessary.
- Add another gallon of fuel to tank. Indicator light should turn off within 4 minutes. If indicator light operates as indicated, system is operating properly.
