Anti-Lock Brake System: Description
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is designed to prevent wheel lock-up during hard braking, allowing driver to maintain vehicle control. System consists of ABS control unit, accumulator, pressure switch, motor and pump assembly, wheel sensors, gear pulsers, modulator, warning light, master cylinder, power booster assembly and fail-safe relays and connecting wiring. See Fig 1 .
Braking system is a 3-channel ABS brake system that has individually controlled front wheels and common controlled (select low) rear wheels. Select low indicates that rear wheel ABS activation is determined by the rear wheel that would lock first.
