Rotor Assembly

  1. Measure diameter of slip rings. If slip ring diameter is less than 1.02" (26 mm), replace rotor. See OVERHAUL  . If slip ring diameter is within specification, go to next step.
  2. Use a DVOM and check rotor coil resistance between slip rings. If continuity is indicated, go to next step. If continuity is not indicated, replace rotor. See OVERHAUL  .
  3. Use DVOM and check resistance between slip ring and rotor core. If continuity is indicated, replace rotor. See OVERHAUL  . If continuity is not indicated, rotor is okay.
