Service Information

Included in this bulletin are proper procedures for reprogramming the Genuine Isuzu remote keyless entry/security system. There are several programming functions of the system. The following quick reference charts are provided for these functions:

NOTE: Since the procedures must be done without any deviations, it may require several attempts. For each required programming function, the procedures must be followed and completed in the sequential order as listed and without any interruptions.

98 TROOPER AND RODEO PROGRAMMING SECURITY SYSTEM

INITIAL REMOTE PROGRAMMING
This procedure erases all existing transmitter Codes and programs only one remote to the system. To program additional remotes, see Adding Additional Remotes. Perform these steps as quickly as possible.
Step Operation Confirmation
1 Close all doors.  
2 Open the driver's door.  
3 Insert the key in the ignition.  
4 Turn the key to ACCESSORY then OFF 3-times, in one-second intervals.  
5 Close and open the driver's door 2-times, in one-second intervals. (Door pin switch may be toggled instead.)  
6 Turn the key to ACCESSORY then OFF 5-times, in one-second intervals.  
7 Close, then open the driver's door. (Door pin switch may be toggled instead.)  
8 Press the lock button of the remote being programmed.  
9 Press the lock button of the remote. The doors will lock and unlock 1-time.
ADDING ADDITIONAL REMOTES

ADDING ADDITIONAL REMOTES
This procedure is performed after initial remote programming. Perform this procedure for each remote.
Perform these steps as quickly as possible.
Step Operation Confirmation
1 Close all doors.  
2 Open the driver's door.  
3 Insert the key in the ignition.  
4 Turn the key to ACCESSORY then OFF 3-times, in one-second intervals.  
5 Close and open the driver's door 2-times, in one-second intervals. (Door pin switch may be toggled instead.)  
6 Turn the key to ACCESSORY then OFF 3-times, in one-second intervals.  
7 Close and open the driver's door 1-time.  
8 Press the lock button of the remote being programmed.  
9 Press the lock button of the remote. The doors will lock and unlock 1-time.
CHECKING NUMBER OF PROGRAMMED TRANSMITTERS

CHECKING THE NUMBER OF PROGRAMMED TRANSMITTERS
This procedure identifies how many remotes are programmed to the security system.
Perform these steps as quickly as possible.
Step Operation Confirmation
1 Close all doors.  
2 Open the driver's door.  
3 Insert the key in the ignition.  
4 Turn the key to ACCESSORY then OFF 3-times, in one-second intervals.  
5 Close and open the driver's door 2-times, in one-second intervals. (Door pin switch may be toggled instead.)  
6 Turn the key to ACCESSORY then OFF.  
7 Close and open the driver's door. The doors will lock and unlock 1-time for each remote programmed.
TURNING CHIRP CONFIRMATION ON OR OFF

TURNING CHIRP CONFIRMATION ON/OFF
This procedure is for turning the Arm/Disarm confirmation chirp ON or OFF. All steps must be followed carefully. It may take several attempts to successfully perform this procedure.
Perform these steps as quickly as possible.
Step Operation Confirmation
1 Close all doors.  
2 Open the driver's door.  
3 Insert the key in the driver's door lock.  
4 Turn the key to lock-center-unlock (Left-center-right) 3-times, in one-second intervals.  
5 Close and open the driver's door 2-times, in one-second intervals. (Door pin switch may be toggled instead.)  
6 Turn the key to lock-center-unlock (Left-center-right) 3 times, in one second intervals  
7 Close and open the driver's door. The doors will lock and unlock 1-time.
