Wheel Speed Sensor

Wheel speed sensors are of a variable reluctance type. Sensors are mounted in close proximity to a toothed ring on the steering knuckle in front, and on top of rear differential. As teeth pass by sensor head, an AC voltage is produced. Sensor signal frequency increases as ring rotation speed increases.
