Preliminary Check

Before using this section, perform On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check and verify following items:

• Powertrain Control Module (PCM), Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) and Reduced Power Lamp (RPL) are operating correctly.
• There are no DTC(s) stored.
• Tech 2 data is within normal operating range. See TYPICAL SCAN TOOL VALUES in PIN VOLTAGE CHARTS article.
• Verify customer complaint and perform appropriate test. See SYMPTOM DIAGNOSIS  under SYMPTOMS.
