Abs Main Relay

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Using DVOM, check resistance between terminals No. 34 and 53 of ABS ECU connector. If resistance is 50-100 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 50-100 ohms, remove main relay from connector. Check for continuity in Yellow/Green wire between terminal No. 34 of ABS ECU connector and terminal No. 85 of relay connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open Yellow/Green wire.
  2. Check continuity of White/Red wire between terminal No. 86 of relay connector and battery power. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in White/Red wire.
  3. Install main relay into relay connector. Connect a jumper wire between terminals No. 1 and 34 of ABS ECU connector. Turn ignition on. Using DVOM, measure voltage between terminals No. 1 and 33 of ABS ECU. If voltage is more than 10 volts, relay is okay. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Remove jumper wire. Remove main relay from relay connector. Check for continuity in Brown/Purple wire between relay connector and 30-amp in-line fuse. If continuity does not exist, repair open in Brown/Purple wire. If continuity exists, replace main relay.
