Left Front Speed Sensor
- Ensure ignition is off. Using DVOM, measure resistance between terminals No. 30 and 48 of ABS ECU connector. If resistance is 800-1400 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 800-1400 ohms, ensure speed sensor connector is not disconnected or damaged. Disconnect speed sensor connector.
- Measure resistance at speed sensor connector. If resistance is not 800-1400 ohms, replace speed sensor. If resistance is 800-1400 ohms, check wiring harness between ABS ECU and speed sensor connector for a short or open circuit. Repair as necessary.
- Lift and support vehicle so left front wheel is off ground. Ensure ignition is off. Connect an AC voltmeter between terminals No. 30 and 48 of ABS ECU connector. Rotate left front wheel at one revolution per second. If AC voltage is .15-.7 volt, go to next step. If voltage is not .15-.7 volt, check speed sensor installation and toothed wheel for warping and cracks. Repair or replace as necessary.
- Ensure ignition is off. Using DVOM, check for continuity between terminals No. 1 and 30 of ABS ECU connector. Continuity should not exist. If continuity exists, check speed sensor for a short to ground. If speed sensor is okay, check wiring harness between ABS ECU and speed sensor for a short to ground. Repair as necessary.
