Engine Control Module (ECM)

The ECM controls fuel injection and ignition systems. ECM is located underdash, behind passenger's side kick panel. ECM maintains optimum engine performance under any operating condition by metering fuel delivery into each cylinder and adjusting ignition timing.

All system control functions are controlled by a microprocessor in the ECM, which receives information from various sensors located on and around the engine. System is equipped with a limp-home mode to permit continued engine operation in the event of certain sensor failures.
