SITUATION

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has launched a new engine health check application available in TOPIx Cloudand SDD to assist technicians with engine diagnostics.

SERVICE INFORMATION

This application should be used to address any powertrain-related running issues. Follow these instructions to access the health check:

• Connect the approved JLR Battery Support Unit (BSU).
• Connect the approved JLR diagnostic equipment.
• Select "Fault and Breakdown" and start a new workflow (the same symptoms apply if using SDD).

Enter one of the following symptoms:

• Powertrain > Engine > Engine Performance > Poor Engine Performance

SDD ENGINE HEALTH CHECK FEATURES

Features Covered:

• Fuel Balance Correction Values: Read within engine health checks.
• SDD: Reset for Fuel Injectors Learning.

Engine Testing:

• Engine running and non-running Applications.
• Non-running test provides data on oil pressure, timing chain status, and compression test results.

PCM DTCs:

• Captures Pending DTCs and Permanent DTCs within the health check.

TOPIx Cloud Engine Health Check Features 

Engine Testing:

• Engine running and non-running Applications.
• Non-running test provides data on oil pressure and compression test results.

PCM DTCs:

• Captures Pending DTCs and Permanent DTCs within the health check.

Additional Instructions for Both SDD and TOPIx: 

• Apply IDU Firmware Update v1 if necessary for IDU2 functionality.
