2.5L Feedback Carburetor System: Description
The Computerized Emission Control (CEC) system is an electronically controlled system that closely controls air/fuel ratio. This close control of the air/fuel ratio is needed to lower exhaust emissions while maintaining good fuel economy and performance.
The primary objective of the CEC system is to maintain the ideal air/fuel mixture ratio of 14.7:1 under all operating conditions. When the ideal air/fuel ratio is maintained, the catalytic converter can effectively control nitrogen oxides (NOx), hydrocarbons (HC) and carbon monoxide (CO).
