Turbo Boost Cut-Out Switch Test
- Disconnect hose from test point "A". See Figure. Connect a pressure gauge to hose. Start engine, and run at 3000 RPM. Record pressure reading. Disconnect gauge and reconnect hose.NOTE: If no pressure is indicated, check turbocharger operation, and for a pinched hose between manifold and turbo boost cut-out switch.
- Disconnect hose from test point "B". See Figure. Connect a pressure gauge to hose. Start engine, and run at 3000 RPM. Record pressure reading. Pressure reading should be equal to reading at test point "A", in step 1.
- If pressure is okay, turbo boost cut-out switch is operating. If pressure is not okay, (and engine coolant temperature is below 239°F (115°C), replace cut-out switch. Disconnect gauge and reconnect hose.
