Instrument Panel Bulb Socket Check

  1. Turn headlight switch on for voltage tests. Turn headlight switch off for resistance tests. Turn headlight switch on. Turn dash illumination switch on. Disconnect indicator light panel connector from panel.
  2. Using DVOM, measure voltage at battery side of bulb terminal. If not battery voltage, replace printed circuit.
  3. Turn headlight and dash illumination switches off. Using DVOM, measure resistance from ground side of bulb socket terminal to indicator panel terminal No. 3. If not zero ohms, replace printed circuit.
  4. Using DVOM, measure resistance across bulb terminals. If reading is not almost zero, (allowing for bulb filament), replace bulb.
