Power Window Switch

Before performing test, confirm proper circuit breaker operation. See CIRCUIT BREAKER  .

  1. Remove switch from door trim panel. Carefully separate multiple terminal block on wiring harness from switch body.
  2. Check for continuity between connector cavity for switch pin DX and a good ground. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH TESTS  for pin identification. There should be continuity. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair ground circuit as required.
  3. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Check for battery voltage at connector cavity for switch pin BY. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair wiring to circuit breaker as required.
  4. Test switch to determine if continuity is correct in all switch positions. See POWER WINDOW SWITCH TESTS  . If switches are okay, test power window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  . If not OK, replace the switch.
