Liftgate Courtesy Light Disable Feature Inoperative

  1. Disconnect rear cargo light connector. Disconnect junction block connector C1. See Figure. Using DVOM, measure resistance of Light Green/Orange wire between rear cargo light connector terminal No. 2 and junction block connector C1 terminal No. 9. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open in Light Green/Orange wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and rear cargo light connector terminal No. 1 (Pink wire). If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open in Pink wire between junction block and rear cargo light. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Connect cargo light connector. Using DVOM, backprobe and measure voltage between ground and rear cargo light connector terminal No. 2 (Light Green/Orange wire). Operate disable switch (press rear cargo light lens) while monitoring DVOM. If voltage toggles between zero to about 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage does not toggle between zero to about 10 volts, replace rear cargo light assembly. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  4. Replace Body Control Module (BCM). See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
