Transmission Control Module Quick Learn Procedure

This procedure MUST be performed if any of the following procedures are performed:

• Transmission Assembly Replacement
• Transmission Control Module Replacement
• Solenoid Pack Replacement
• Clutch Plate and/or Seal Replacement
• Valve Body Replacement or Recondition

Quick learn procedure requires use of DRBIII(R) scan tool. Follow scan tool manufacturer's operating instructions to perform quick learn procedure. This program allows electronic transmission system to recalibrate itself to provide proper transmission operation. The following conditions MUST be met before performing quick learn procedure:

• Brakes Must Be Applied
• Engine Speed Must Be Above 500 RPM
• Throttle Angle (TPS) Must Be Less Than 3 Degrees
• Shift Lever Position Must Stay In PARK Until Prompted To Shift To Overdrive
• Shift Lever Position Must Stay In Overdrive After "SHIFT TO OVERDRIVE" Prompt Until DRBIII(R) Scan Tool Indicates Procedure Is Complete
• Calculated Oil Temperature Must Be Above 60°F (15.5°C) And Below 200°F (93°C)
