Ignition Systems: Description

The ignition system consists of:

  1. Spark Plugs
  2. Ignition Coil(s)
  3. Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
  4. Crankshaft Position Sensor
  5. 2 Knock Sensors (3.7L only)
  6. Camshaft Position Sensor
  7. The MAP, TPS, IAC and ECT also have an effect on the control of the ignition system.
