Fan, Cooling: Removal: Diesel

- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover (1).

- Disconnect the cooling fan module harness connector (1).

- Remove the breather hose (2) from breather tube.
- Disconnect the Closed Crankcase Ventilation (CCV) heater wire harness connector (4).

- Loosen clamps (4, 6) and remove the turbocharger inlet tube (5).
- Remove the bolts that secure the cooling fan assembly to the radiator.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE

- Remove bolts (3) and the belly pan (2).

- Disconnect the left Charge Air Cooler (CAC) hose (1) from cooler (2).

- Remove nut (1) securing CAC tube (2) to engine.
- Lower the vehicle.

- Unlock CAC tube wire retainer (2).
- Separate the CAC hose (3) at from EGR air flow control valve inlet tube (1).
- Raise the vehicle.
- Using care, lift the fan slightly upward.

- Tilt the cooling fan down to allow for the upper mounting tab to clear the upper radiator hose.
- Remove the fan assembly from the vehicle.
