Pump, Water: Installation: 2.8L

  1. Clean the O-ring sealing surfaces.
  2. Install a NEW  O-ring seal in the groove in water pump housing.
  3. Install the water pump. Tighten the bolts to 32 N.m (24 ft. lbs.).

  4. Install the inner timing cover. Tighten the bolts to 11 N.m (97 in. lbs.).

  5. Install the timing belt. Refer to appropriate service information.
  6. Install the radiator fan. Refer to FAN, COOLING, INSTALLATION .
  7. Evacuate air and fill cooling system. Refer to COOLANT SYSTEM AIR EVACUATION .
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
  9. Check cooling system for leaks. Refer to LEAK TESTING .
