Fan, Cooling: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the pressurized coolant bottle. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove the hood latch. Refer to LATCH, HOOD, REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the upper oxygen sensor wire harness connector.
- Remove the bolts (1) and the catalytic converter heat shield (2).
- Remove the turbocharger heat shield nut and stud (1).
- Detach the coolant hose (1) from the upper radiator panel (2).
- Disconnect the cooling fan module wire harness connector.
- Remove the wiring harness (1) and retainers from the upper radiator panel (2) and position aside the wire harness.
- Disconnect the ambient air temperature sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Remove the fasteners (1) and the upper radiator panel (2).
- Remove the six bolts (1, 2) and the upper core support (3).
- Remove the fasteners and the right and left air deflectors.
- Remove the upper radiator hose.
- Remove the cooling fan bolts (1).
- Lift up and remove the cooling fan assembly (2) from the top.
