Charging System (Service Information): Generator: Installation: 3.2L

1. Carefully place the generator (1) into position.

2. Loosely install the drip shield with the top two generator mounting bolts (1), install the lower generator mounting bolt (3) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

3. Position the A/C compressor (2) to the engine and tighten the bolt (3) to the proper Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
4. If removed reinstall the right tow hook.
5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

6. Install the upper engine mount bolts (2, 3) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

7. Install the fuel line (2) at the fuel rail.

8. Install the air filter housing body (1). Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .

9. Raise and support the vehicle
10. Tighten the generator mounting retainers to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
11. Install the generator B+ cable (3) on the generator stud.
12. Install the B+ cable nut (2), and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
13. Connect the field generator harness Connector (1).

14. Install the belly pan (1). Refer to BELLY PAN, INSTALLATION .
15. Partially lower the vehicle.

16. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
17. Install the wheel.
18. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
19. Connect the negative battery cable(s). Refer to NEGATIVE CABLE .
20. Start the engine and verify the generator is operating properly.
