Charging System (Service Information): Generator: Removal: 2.0L

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable(s). Refer to NEGATIVE CABLE .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the serpentine belt. Refer to REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the right halfshaft. Refer to REMOVAL .
  6. If equipped, remove the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). Refer to REMOVAL .

  7. Remove the B+ nut (2) and remove the B+ cable and position aside.
  8. Disconnect the generator field wire harness connector (1) and position aside.

  9. Remove the two bolts (1) from the generator.
  10. Remove the generator from the vehicle.
