Steering System: Gear: Removal: Notes

NOTE:

Before proceeding. Refer to FRONT, WARNING .

NOTE:

If equipped, removal of the power transfer unit may be necessary in order to remove the steering gear  . Refer to REMOVAL .

  1. Remove the front suspension crossmember. Refer to REMOVAL .

  2. Remove steering gear heat shield bolts (1) and remove the heat shield (2).

  3. Remove the dash seal bolt (1) and remove the dash seal (2).

  4. Remove the steering gear mounting bolts (1) and remove the steering gear.
