Link, Spring: Installation
- Position the stabilizer link lower bracket to the spring link.
- Install the stabilizer link lower bracket bolt (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.NOTE:
When installing the spring, the lower end of the spring (1) and the spring isolator orientation feature (2) must be aligned as shown in illustration. The lower end of the spring is always outboard.
NOTE:The label on the spring is always closest to the top isolator.
- Position the spring link to the mount.NOTE:
On four wheel drive models, install the spring link to cradle bolt in the opposite direction from which it was removed.
- Install a NEW
spring link mounting to cradle bolt (7) and a NEW
spring link mounting to cradle nut, but do not tighten at this time. Support the spring link with a jack stand or equivalent.
- Install the rear spring (1) to the vehicle.
- While raising the jack stand or equivalent, attach the spring link (6) to the knuckle.
- Install a NEW
spring link to knuckle mounting bolt and a NEW
spring link to knuckle mounting nut (4), but do not tighten at this time.
- Install the stabilizer link to the spring link. Refer to LINK, STABILIZER BAR, INSTALLATION .
- Hold the stabilizer stud stationary and tighten the retaining nut to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
- With the vehicle at normal ride height, tighten the spring link to knuckle mounting nut (4) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- With the vehicle at normal ride height, tighten the spring link mounting to cradle nut to the proper torque specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Perform wheel alignment as necessary. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
