Removal And Installation: 2.4L: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION or COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the ignition coil. Refer to COIL, IGNITION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .NOTE:
Prior to loosening the spark plug, use compressed air to blow out any debris that might be in the spark plug tube.
- Using the appropriate socket (1a), remove the spark plug (1b) from the cylinder head.
