Removal And Installation: Installation
NOTE:
When installing the coil spring on to the strut align the coil spring tag (1) to the clevis (2).
NOTE:
Some springs will have a banana shape to them and it is imperative that the lower end coil butts up against the lower rubber isolator seat.
- Using a Brannick 7600 spring compressor or equivalent compress the spring (5).
- Install the lower spring isolator (6) on the strut (7).
- Position the strut (7) into the compressed spring (5).
- Install the boot (4).
- Install the jounce bumper (3).
- Install the strut upper mount (2).
- Using (special tool #2027800020, Kit, Remover - Installer Shock / Strut), install the strut rod nut (1).
- Tighten the strut rod nut (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the rear strut. Refer to STRUT, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Check for proper vehicle curb height. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
