3.0L Diesel

CAUTION:

Care must be used when trying to remove the upper and lower shroud covers. Damaging the holes in the cover may cause it to become loose and not perform properly.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the engine cover (1).

  3. Loosen the clamps (2), remove the Charge Air Cooler (CAC) hoses from the resonator and position the hoses aside.
  4. Remove the bolts (1) and remove the resonator and bracket as an assembly.
  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  6. Remove the front skid plate. Refer to REMOVAL .

  7. Remove the lower cooling fan closeout panel (1).
  8. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

  9. Remove the upper fan shroud cover (1) by using a pick (3) to pull the cover retaining hole away from the clip (2).

  10. Disconnect the cooling fan wire harness connector (1).

  11. Release both retaining tabs (1) and pull up to remove the cooling fan assembly from the top side of the engine compartment.
