Clean and inspect the threads in the cylinder block and heater element.
Coat the heater element threads with Loctite® 572 thread sealer.
Install the engine block heater (1) into the engine block and tighten to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).

Connect the block heater power cord (3).
Fill the cooling system with the recommended coolant. Refer to COOLANT SYSTEM AIR EVACUATION .
Connect the negative battery cable.
Start and warm the engine.
Check the block heater for leaks.
