3.0L Diesel

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the front skid plate. Refer to REMOVAL .
  3. Recover the refrigerant system. Refer to REFRIGERANT SYSTEM RECOVERY .
  4. Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING  .

  5. Remove the lower radiator hose (1).
  6. Remove the radiator crossmember. Refer to CROSSMEMBER, RADIATOR, REMOVAL .
  7. Remove the Charge Air Cooler (CAC). Refer to the appropriate service information .

  8. Remove the nut (6) that secures the A/C discharge line (4) and A/C liquid line to the A/C condenser (1).
  9. Disconnect the A/C discharge line and A/C liquid line from the A/C condenser and remove and DISCARD  the seals.
  10. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and the condenser ports.

  11. Disconnect both of the transmission cooler lines (1).

  12. Disengage the two retaining tabs (1) and (2), then tip the A/C condenser (4) forward and carefully remove it from the mounts and position it aside.

  13. Remove the upper radiator hose (1).
  14. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

    Remove the lower cooling fan closeout panel (1).

  16. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.

  17. Disconnect the cooling fan wire harness connector (1).

  18. Release both retaining tabs (1) and pull up to remove the cooling fan assembly.
  19. The lower part of the radiator is equipped with two alignment dowel pins and fit into rubber grommets. These rubber grommets are pressed onto the radiator.
  20. Carefully lift up and remove the radiator from the vehicle. Be careful not to scrape the radiator fins against any other component.

  21. If necessary, release the both tabs (1) and remove the cooling fan.
