Ignition Checks: IGNITOR

  1. Disconnect ignitor connector. Ignitor is located on left side of engine compartment. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and Yellow/White wire of ignitor connector. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, locate and repair open or short to ground in Yellow/White wire.
  2. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity in Green/White wire between terminal No. 4 of ECM C248 (22-pin) connector and terminal No. 3 of ignitor connector. Also, check for continuity in Black wire between ground and terminal No. 4 of ignitor connector. If continuity exists in both wires, ignitor circuits are okay. If ignitor does not function properly, replace ignitor. If continuity does not exist in one or both wires, repair open in appropriate wire.
