Brake Band: Reassembly

NOTE: Install spring exactly in direction shown in Fig 1 .
  1. Install orifice valve, orifice check spring, and orifice holder as shown in Fig 1 .

  2. Install orifice assembly and washer to transaxle case.

  3. Tighten orifice assembly using a hexagonal wrench.

    Tightening torque: 29-39 lb-ft. (40-53 N.m, 4.0~5.0 kg/cm 2  ) 

  4. Install band strut.
  5. Install 2-4 brake band.
  6. Apply ATF to new O-rings and install them to servo piston.

    D-ring inner diameter: 

    Piston stem side: 2.303 in. (58.5 mm) 

    Servo retainer side: 1.157 in. (29.4 mm)

  7. Insert piston stem into servo piston and secure it with a new spring clip.

  8. Apply ATF to new O-ring and install it to servo retainer.

    O-ring inner diameter: 2.587 in. (65.7 mm)

  9. Assemble servo piston and servo retainer.
    NOTE: Do not install servo piston and retainer into transaxle case at this time.

  10. Install snap ring.
