Bench Testing: Rectifier

Using ohmmeter, check for continuity between positive rectifier and stator coil lead connection terminal. Continuity should exist in one direction only. Check for continuity between negative rectifier and stator coil lead connection terminal. See Fig 1 . Continuity should exist in one direction only. If continuity exists in both directions, a diode is shorted. Replace rectifier.
