Sensor Inspection

  1. Disconnect the knock sensor connector.
  2. Measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 2.

    Standard value: about 5M ohms at 20°C (68°F) 

  3. If the resistance is zero, replace the knock sensor.

    Knock sensor torque: 19.6-24.5 N.m (200-250 kg. cm, 14.5-18.1 lb. ft)

  4. Measure the capacitance between the terminal 1 and 2.

    Standard value: 800-1600 pF
