TPS Sensor Checking

  1. Remove TPS connector.
  2. Measure the resistance between TPS connector terminal No.1 and No.3.

    Standard value: 1.5 - 3.5 kohm

  3. Measure the resistance between TPS connector terminal No.2 and No.3.

    At this time, the resistance should be changed smoothly according to the opening angle of throttle valve.

  4. Check ON<-- -->OFF condition of accelerator using Hi-scan tool.

  5. In case of vehicle with ETS, check ON<-- -->OFF condition between APS connector terminal No.4 and No.5. At this time, voltage value at the point of changing ON<-- -->OFF should be within 50mV.

  6. Replace TPS or APS if step  2 .,  3 . and  4 . of this procedure are abnormal.
