Automatic Transaxle: Installation

  1. Install the transaxle lower mounting bolts after fitting the transaxle assembly into the engine assembly.

    TORQUE : 80~100 Nm (8.0~10.0 kgf.m, 57.9-72.3 lb-ft)

  2. Install the transaxle insulator mounting bracket bolts (A).

    TORQUE : 60-80 Nm (6.0-8.0 kgf.m, 43.4-57.9 lb-ft)

  3. Install the drive plate bolts (A) by rotating the timing gear.

    TORQUE : 46-53 Nm (4.6-5.3 kgf.m, 33.3-38.3 lb-ft)

    NOTE: Install the bolts (A-6ea) rotating the crankshaft clockwise.

  4. Install the left side cover (A).

  5. Connect the driveshafts (A, B) to the transaxle.

  6. Supporting the sub frame with a jack and the special tool (09624-38000), install the mounting bolts, (refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM (EXCEPT TPMS) ).

    TORQUE : 140-160 Nm (14-16 kgf.m, 101.3-115.7 lb-ft)

  7. Install the muffler hanger rubber (A).

  8. Install the front (B) rear (A) roll stopper mounting bolts.

    TORQUE : 50-65 Nm (5-6.5 kgf.m, 36.2-47.0 lb-ft)

  9. Install the steering column joint bolt, (refer to STEERING SYSTEM )
  10. Install the stabilizer link mounting nuts, (refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM (EXCEPT TPMS) )
  11. Install the lower arm ball joint assembly mounting bolts and tie rod end ball joint, (refer to SUSPENSION SYSTEM (EXCEPT TPMS) )
  12. Connect the power steering return hose (A) by tightening the clamp (B)

  13. Install the oil drain plug (A).

    TORQUE : 30-35 Nm (3.0-3.5 kgf.m, 21.7-25.3 lb-ft)

  14. Install the front under cover and front wheels & tires.
  15. Remove the special tool (09200-38001).

  16. Connect the power steering pressure bolt (A), (refer to STEERING SYSTEM )

    TORQUE : 55-65 Nm (5.5-6.5 kgf.m, 39.8-47.0 lb-ft)

  17. Install the transaxle upper mounting bolts (A).

    TORQUE : 43-55 Nm (4.3-5.5 kgf.m, 31.1-39.8 lb-ft)

  18. Install the control cable assembly (C) by installing the nut (A) and clip (B).

  19. Connect the transaxle oil cooler hoses (B) to the tubes by tightening the clamps (A).

  20. Install the vehicle speed sensor connector (B) and output speed sensor connector (A).

  21. Install the inhibiter switch connector (A), solenoid valve connector (B) and the input shaft speed sensor connector (C).

  22. Install the ground earth wire (A).

  23. Install the battery tray (A).

  24. Install the PCM connector (A) and air cleaner under body (B).

  25. Install the air cleaner upper body (B) and air flow sensor connector (A).

  26. Install the engine cover (A).

  27. Install the battery (A) with the mounting plate and bolt

  28. Refill the automatic transaxle fluid, (refer to 'SERVICE ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE ')
  29. Refill the power steering fluid and bleed the air. (refer to STEERING SYSTEM )
