Repair Procedures: Installation

  1. Install in the reverse order of removal
    NOTE:
    • When reinstalling
      1. If the differential oil seal is damaged and oil is leaking, replace the oil seal with a new one. When installing a new oil seal, use the special tools (09452-26100, 09231-H1100).
      2. Check that the shift lever and manual control lever is placed in the "N" position.
      3. Check the ATF level after refilling the automatic transaxle with fluid.
      4. Clear the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) using the KDS/GDS. Disconnecting the battery negative terminal will not clear the DTCs. Clear DTCs using the KDS/GDS at all times.
    • When replacing with a new automatic transaxle
      1. Check that the shift lever and manual control lever is placed in the "N" position.
      2. Automatic transaxle is already filled with the specified amount of ATF. For this reason, it is not necessary to refill and check the ATF. However, the remaining ATF in the ATF cooler has to be drained.
      3. Install the transaxle after draining the remaining ATF by blowing air into the ATF cooler hose.
      4. Clear the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) using the KDS/GDS. Disconnecting the battery negative terminal will not clear the DTCs. Clear DTCs using the KDS/GDS at all times.
      5. Reset the automatic transaxle adaptive values using the KDS/GDS.

    • When replacing with a remanufactured automatic transaxle
      1. Remanufactured automatic transaxle is not filled with specified quantity of ATF. For that reason, it is necessary to refill and check the ATF.
      2. Check the ATF level after refilling the automatic transaxle with fluid.

(Refer to Hydraulic System - "FLUID ")

      3. Clear the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) using the KDS/GDS.

(The DTCs will not be cleared even after the battery negative terminal has been disconnected. So, be sure to clear the DTCs using the KDS/GDS.)

      4. Reset the automatic transaxle adaptive values using the KDS/GDS.
