Repair Procedures: Removal: Notes

NOTE: If working with Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P1744 (engine clutch malfunction) requiring replacement of drive motor is indicated, replace motor and transaxle at as a complete unit.
  1. Remove the automatic transaxle.

    (Refer to Automatic Transaxle System - " AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE  ") 

  2. Remove the motor assembly mounting bolts.

  3. Install the motor removal/installation guide (09450-3D200).

  4. After installing the motor removal/installation jig (09365-3D630), separate the motor assembly from automatic transaxle by tightening the bolts (A).

    NOTE: Tighten the bolts (A) in turns.
  5. By using a jack, lift off the motor assembly (A) from the automatic transaxle (B).

    NOTE:
    • Keep foreign substances away from the motor coil part.
    • Be careful not to touch ground with motor coil part.
    • Be careful not to impact the motor assembly as it may get damaged.
  6. Remove the spacer (A).

  7. After removing the snap ring (A), remove the engine clutch assembly (B).
