Repair Procedures: Disassembly
- Compress the coil spring (A) with a strut spring compressor. Do not compress the spring excessively.NOTE:
- To prevent peeling the paint of coil spring, cover the coil spring with a thin cloth or hose before installing strut spring compressor.
- Set the compression position of strut spring compressor correctly for coil spring not to slant when compressing the coil spring.
- Remove the lock nut (A). Gradually turn the bolt on the spring compressor to slowly release the tension from the spring. Then, disconnect the components.
Tightening torque:
HPD: 24.5 - 29.4 N.m (2.5 - 3.0 kgf.m, 14.5 - 18.1 lb.ft)
ECS: 50.0 - 59.8 N.m (5.1 - 6.1 kgf.m, 36.9 - 44.1 lb.ft)
- Remove the spring upper pad (A).
- Remove the coil spring (A).
- Remove the bump stopper (A).
- Remove the spring lower pad (A).
- Reassembly in the reverse order of disassembly.
