With ECS

  1. Remove the front wheel and tire.

    (Refer to Tires/Wheels - "WHEEL ")

  2. Disconnect the front wheel speed sensor (A) and G-sensor connector (B).

  3. Disconnect the G-sensor bracket (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb.ft)

  4. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor bracket (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb.ft)

  5. Remove the front wheel guard.

    (Refer to Body - "FRONT WHEEL GUARD ")

  6. Disconnect the ECS connector (A) and wiring bracket (B).

    Tightening torque: 

    8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb.ft)

  7. Separate the stabilizer link (A) from the front strut assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb.ft)

    NOTE: Using a hex wrench, fix the end of stabilizer link when loosening the nut.

  8. Separate the front strut assembly (A) from the lateral arm by loosening the bolt and nut.

    Tightening torque: 

    156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb.ft)

  9. Separate the upper arm from the knuckle.
    1. Remove the split pin (A).
    2. Remove the castle nut (B).

      Tightening torque: 

      78.5 - 88.3 N.m (8.0 - 9.0 kgf.m, 57.9 - 65.1 lb.ft)

    3. Separate the upper arm from knuckle using the ball joint puller (A).

    NOTE: Set up the jack under the knuckle in order to separate the upper arm in no-load condition.

  10. Remove the front strut assembly (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    53.9 - 63.7 N.m (5.5 - 6.5 kgf.m, 39.8 - 47.0 lb.ft)

  11. Disconnect the ECS wiring bracket (A) from the module bracket assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb.ft)

  12. Disconnect the ECS connector.

    NOTE:
    • Removal of ECS connector 
      1. Separate the upper cap (A) and lower cap (C).
      2. Separate the connector (B) and shock absorber rod (D).
      3. Separate the lower cap (C) and insulator (E).

    • Precautions when installing the connector. 
      • Make sure the red marking after installing the connector as shown illustration below.

  13. Loosen the nuts (A) and remove the bracket from the strut assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    19.6 - 29.4 N.m (2.0 - 3.0 kgf.m, 14.5 - 21.7 lb-ft)

  14. Install in the reverse order of removal.
