Repair Procedures: Replacement

  1. Remove the front wheel and tire.

    (Refer to Tires/Wheels - "WHEEL ")

  2. Remove the engine room under cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  3. Separate the front strut assembly (A) from the lateral arm by loosening the bolt and nut.

    Tightening torque: 

    156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb.ft)

  4. Remove the front axle assembly.

    (Refer to Driveshaft and axle - "FRONT HUB/KNUCKLE/TONE WHEEL ")

  5. Separate the universal joint (A) from the steering gear box.

    Tightening torque: 

    32.4 - 37.3 N.m (3.3 - 3.8 kgf.m, 23.9 - 27.5 lb.ft)

    NOTE: Do not reuse the universal joint bolt, Be sure to install a new one.
  6. Remove the sub frame stay (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    53.9 - 63.7 N.m (5.5 - 6.5 kgf.m, 39.8 - 47.0 lb.ft)

  7. Remove the engine room side cover.

    (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  8. Disconnect the R-MDPS motor connector (A), ECU connector (B) and wiring (C).

  9. Remove the radiator grill upper cover (A).

  10. Remove the engine room cover (A).

  11. Remove the fender side cover (A).

  12. Remove the cowl top cover.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "COWL TOP COVER ")

  13. Assemble the engine support fixture on the engine room by using a SST (09200-3N000, 09200-2S000).

    (Refer to SPECIAL SERVICE TOOLS .)

  14. Remove the RH/LH engine support bracket bolt (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    63.7 - 83.4 N.m (6.5 - 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 - 61.5 lb.ft)

  15. Support the sub frame with a lift table and then loosen the sub frame mounting bolts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    196.1 - 215.7 N.m (20.0 - 22.0 kgf.m, 144.7 - 159.1 lb.ft)

  16. Remove the sub frame (A) from the vehicle.

  17. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  18. Check the front wheel alignment.

    (Refer to Front Suspension System - "FRONT ALIGNMENT ")
