Repair Procedures: Replacement
- Remove the front wheel and tire.
(Refer to Tires/Wheels - "WHEEL ")
- Remove the engine room under cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Separate the front strut assembly (A) from the lateral arm by loosening the bolt and nut.
Tightening torque:
156.9 - 176.5 N.m (16.0 - 18.0 kgf.m, 115.7 - 130.2 lb.ft)

[AWD]
- Remove the front axle assembly.
(Refer to Driveshaft and axle - "FRONT HUB/KNUCKLE/TONE WHEEL ")
- Separate the universal joint (A) from the steering gear box.
Tightening torque:
32.4 - 37.3 N.m (3.3 - 3.8 kgf.m, 23.9 - 27.5 lb.ft)
NOTE: Do not reuse the universal joint bolt, Be sure to install a new one. - Remove the sub frame stay (A).
Tightening torque:
53.9 - 63.7 N.m (5.5 - 6.5 kgf.m, 39.8 - 47.0 lb.ft)

- Remove the engine room side cover.
(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Disconnect the R-MDPS motor connector (A), ECU connector (B) and wiring (C).
- Remove the radiator grill upper cover (A).
- Remove the engine room cover (A).
- Remove the fender side cover (A).

- Remove the cowl top cover.
(Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "COWL TOP COVER ")
- Assemble the engine support fixture on the engine room by using a SST (09200-3N000, 09200-2S000).
(Refer to SPECIAL SERVICE TOOLS .)
- Remove the RH/LH engine support bracket bolt (A).
Tightening torque:
63.7 - 83.4 N.m (6.5 - 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 - 61.5 lb.ft)

- Support the sub frame with a lift table and then loosen the sub frame mounting bolts (A).
Tightening torque:
196.1 - 215.7 N.m (20.0 - 22.0 kgf.m, 144.7 - 159.1 lb.ft)
- Remove the sub frame (A) from the vehicle.
- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Check the front wheel alignment.
