Repair Procedures: Removal

NOTE: Prior to replacing the 4WD ECU, back up the 4WD ECU's clutch learning with the KDS tool.
(Refer to 4 Wheel Drive (AWD) System - "REPAIR PROCEDURES ")
  1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Remove the integrated central control unit (ICU).

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "INTEGRATED CENTRAL CONTROL UNIT (ICU) ")

  3. Remove the knee airbag.

    (Refer to Restraint - "KNEE AIRBAG (KAB) MODULE ")

  4. Remove the AWD ECU (A) after loosening the mounting nuts.

  5. Disconnect the AWD ECU connector (A).
