Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

    (Refer to Engine Electrical System - "AUXILIARY BATTERY ")

  2. Remove the high pressure fuel pipe.

    (Refer to Fuel Delivery System - "FUEL LINE ")

  3. Separate the fuel feed hose (A) by removing the fixing clip.

  4. Remove the ground line (A) by removing the bolt.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.9 - 9.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.0 kgf.m, 5.8 - 7.2 lb.ft)

  5. Disconnect the Continuous Variable Valve Duration (CVVD) actuator connector (A).

  6. Disconnect extension wiring connector (A).

  7. Disconnect the camshaft position sensor (exhaust) connector (A).

  8. Remove the wiring protector (A) by removing the bolt.

  9. Remove the CVVD actuator (A) by removing the bolts.

    Tightening torque: 

    19.0-24.5 N.m (1.9-2.5 kgf.m, 13.8-18.1 lb.ft)
