Coolant Level Warning Switch: Continuity

  1. Remove the radiator cap and open the radiator drain cock.
  2. Drain the coolant about 1.1 quarts.
  3. Check that there is continuity between terminals (float down).
  4. Close radiator drain cock and fill the cooling system with coolant.
  5. Check that there is no continuity between terminals (float up).
  6. If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.
  7. Fill and bleed air from cooling system. See COOLING SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS article under ENGINE for cooling system bleeding procedure.
