Rheostat Volume Control Test

NOTE: Rheostat and rheostat volume control are separate components. Rheostat is an electronic module that receives signals from rheostat volume control (control wheel).

Remove instrument cluster. Remove rheostat volume control. With control wheel turned fully clockwise, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1 and 5. See Fig 1. With control wheel turned fully counterclockwise, there should be continuity between terminals No. 3 and 5. If continuity is not as specified, replace rheostat volume control.
