Engine Oil Level Warning Sensor

  1. Remove engine oil level warning sensor. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . With sensor temperature less than 104°F (40°C), check for continuity between sensor terminals with sensor float in each position. Continuity should be present with sensor float in all positions.
  2. Heat sensor to greater than 140°F (60°C) in an oil bath. Check for continuity between sensor terminals. Continuity should be present with sensor float in up position. Continuity should not be present with sensor float in down position. If continuity is not as specified, replace sensor.
