Test A: No Communication With Abs Control Module
- Check Ground
Turn ignition off. Disconnect ABS control module 25-pin connector. Connect Breakout Box (014-00322) and ABS Adapter (T90P-50-ALA). Measure resistance between breakout box test terminal No. 24 and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open or high resistance in Black wire and retest system. See WIRING DIAGRAM
.
- Check Black Wire
Measure resistance between breakout box terminal No. 8 and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open or high resistance in Black wire and retest system. See WIRING DIAGRAM
.
- Check Power Supply
Measure voltage between breakout box terminals No. 8 and 9. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step 6).
- Check Fuse No. 21
Inspect fuse No. 21 (20-amp) located at power distribution box. If fuse is faulty, go to next step. If fuse is good, repair open Tan/Red wire and retest system. See WIRING DIAGRAM
.
- Check Tan/Red Wire For Short To Ground
Measure resistance between breakout box terminals No. 8 and 9. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Tan/Red wire. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace fuse No. 21 and retest system. If fuse fails again, replace ABS control module. After repair, retest system.
- Check Second Battery Supply
Measure voltage between breakout box terminals No. 8 and 25. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to step 9).
- Check Fuse No. 20
Inspect fuse No. 20 (30-amp) located at power distribution box. If fuse is faulty, go to next step. If fuse is good, repair open in Red wire and retest system. See WIRING DIAGRAM
.
- Check Red Wire For Short To Ground
Measure resistance between breakout box terminals No. 8 and 25. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Red wire. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace fuse No. 20 and retest system. If fuse fails again, replace ABS control module. After repair, retest system.
- Check Ignition Power Supply
Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between breakout box terminals No. 8 and 23. If battery voltage does not exist, go to next step. If battery voltage exists, go to MODULE COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK article in the ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT section.
- Check Fuse Junction Panel Fuse No. 21
Inspect fuse junction panel fuse No. 21 (10-amp). If fuse is faulty, go to next step. If fuse is good, repair open in Light Blue/Pink wire and retest system. See WIRING DIAGRAM
.
- Check Light Blue/Pink Wire For Short To Ground
Measure resistance between breakout box terminals No. 8 and 23. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or less, repair short to ground in Light Blue/Pink wire. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace fuse No. 21 (10-amp) and retest system. If fuse fails again, replace ABS control module. After repair, retest system.
