Test D: Lighting Control Module (LCM) Does Not Respond

  1. Disconnect Black 16-pin lighting control module connector C220 (located under instrument panel to right of steering column). Measure resistance between DLC terminal No. 7 (Light Blue/White wire) and lighting control module connector C220 terminal No. 16 (Brown/Light Green wire). See Figure and Fig 1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Light Blue/White wire. Reconnect connectors. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS .
  2. With lighting control module C220 still disconnected, inspect connector C220 terminal No. 16 for damage or bad wire connection. If terminal and wire connection are okay, go to next step. If terminal and wire connection are damaged, repair as necessary. Reconnect connectors. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS  under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS.
  3. With lighting control module C220 still disconnected, inspect lighting control module terminal No. 16 for damage. If terminal is okay, replace lighting control module. If terminal is damaged, repair as necessary. Reconnect connectors. Repeat DATA LINK DIAGNOSTICS under COMMUNICATION NETWORK DIAGNOSTICS .
