Removal and Installation

CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
  1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
  2. Disconnect the anti-lock brake control module electrical connector.
    1. Disconnect the pump motor electrical connector
    2. Release the anti-lock brake control module electrical connector locking tab.
    3. Disconnect the anti-lock brake control module electrical connectors.

  3. Remove the anti-lock brake control module.
    1. Remove the bolts.
    2. Remove the control module.

  4. NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.

  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
