Removal And Installation: Column: Installation
- Place the steering column in the vehicle, align the shift lock actuator and install two retaining screws (console shift only).
- Position the shift cable and bracket to the lower column.
- Snap the shift cable and bracket onto the shift selector pivot ball.
- Connect the shift cable to the steering column bracket.
- Connect the shift cable to the shift tube lever.
- Position the steering column assembly on the instrument panel reinforcement bracket. Install two rear retaining nuts.
- Align the steering column lower yoke to the lower steering column shaft, and install the bolt.
- Install the steering column impact absorber and secure with two retaining nuts.
- Install the ignition switch electrical connector.
- Position the multi-function switch and install two retaining screws.
- Connect all electrical connectors.
- Attach the shift cable and bracket loop on the shift selector hook, and install the control selector cable bracket (7E364) to the actuator housing (column shift). Install the retaining screw.
- Install the upper and lower steering column shrouds and four retaining screws.
- Install the tilt wheel handle.
- Restore the vehicle to operating condition.
- Install the ignition switch lock cylinder. For additional information, refer to IGNITION SWITCH LOCK CYLINDER-FUNCTIONAL LOCK CYLINDER OR IGNITION SWITCH LOCK CYLINDER-NON-FUNCTIONAL LOCK CYLINDER .
- Install the clockspring. For additional information, refer to CLOCKSPRING .
- Install the steering Wheel .
- Install the driver air bag. For additional information, refer to DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE .
- Reactivate the supplemental restraint system. For additional information, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION .
