Engine Front Cover: Installation
NOTE:
If the front cover and gasket are not secured within four minutes, the sealant must be removed and the sealing surface cleaned with metal surface cleaner.
- Apply silicone gasket and sealant in the locations shown.
- Position the engine front cover (6019) and install the bolts and the studs in three stages:ITEM DESCRIPTION

- Stage 2: Tighten numbers six and seven to 50 N.m (37 lb-ft).
- Stage 3: Tighten numbers 11 through 15 to 25 N.m (18 lb-ft).
- Install the belt idler and the bolt.
- Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
- Install the water pump pulley and install the bolts.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Tighten the bolts in three stages:
- Stage 1: Tighten to 2 N.m (18 lb-in).
- Stage 2: Tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb-ft).
- Stage 3: Tighten an additional 60 degrees.
- Install the drain plug.
- Connect the CKP sensor.
- Position the power steering pump and install the bolts.
- Install the crankshaft front oil seal. For additional information, refer to CRANKSHAFT FRONT OIL SEAL
- Install the left and right valve cover. For additional information, refer to VALVE COVER-LH and VALVE COVER-RH
- Refill the engine crankcase with clean engine oil.
